Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life
I just finished reading a self help new book, The Root of the Tree: The Foundation of Truth. It’s a great self help book full of affirmations and meditations. If you liked The Secret then this book could be great for you.
The main difference between this book and other self help books is that it is set up to put you on a path to successful positive living in a week by week guide. The author encourages you to read the whole book and then to go back to the beginning to start on your road to a changed life.
Other books may excite by giving you a great can do attitude to attracting wonderful things in your life but, where those books fall short in keeping up your can do spirit this one guides you through the process. The Root of The Tree reconnects you to the root of your being and the faith that exists within you to attract the best life has to offer. This is a twelve week program and can be started over and over to keep you going on your path to prosperous living.
You can check out the website and read the introduction to the book at http://therootofthetree.com
Check back here too for updates as I go through my journey with this book.
Still Learning After All These Years
I love to learn and lately the “learning bug” has been biting. Maybe I could take class at a community college? That just takes time away from my family and my work schedule is never the same from week to week.
As I was surfing the net, I came across a blog called The Frugal Queen. She posted a link about online learning sponsored by the state of Ohio. You don’t live in Ohio? Well……anybody can use it, no matter what state you live in. At LearningExpressLibrary.com you can take skills improvement courses in Algebra, practice for a Nursing School Entrance test or practice your business writing skills (do you think it would help with writing blog posts?) They even offer some of the tests in Spanish.
Go ahead. Check it out. You might learn something new today.

Adopting a Family Pet
A couple of things to think about before getting a pet.
Think about how much space you have in your home or yard. If you don’t have a yard you must consider that you will have to walk your pet daily.- How much time do you have to spend with a pet?
- How will you train your pet? Classes, books, dvd?
- Know that a dog or cat’s life is an average of 15 years. Too many animals get homes because they are “cute” babies and then are “back on the market” Don’t adopt a pet unless you plan to make a lifetime commitment.
- Do you have the money to cover medical costs. You should also check out some different pet insurance companies.
If you are considering getting a family pet, I encourage you to check out www.petfinder.com They are basically a data base for over 10,000 shelters in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. They don’t just have dogs or cats either. They have listings for horses, pigs, birds, even reptiles.
Pet Finder also offers articles about pet behavior and training. They also have message boards for pet owners with a wide variety of topics.
